Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
This guide is a free, non-partisan website, supported by ads. It has no accounts, no logins and no database of visitors. This page explains the little information that does leave your browser, and where it goes.
Your address
You only share an address if you type one to find your ballot. It is never stored by this site, never added to the page link, and never sent to analytics. To work out your districts, your browser sends it directly to these public services:
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Photon, an OpenStreetMap address service run by komoot | The text you type in the address box | To suggest matching addresses as you type |
| U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder | The address you choose, or its map coordinates | To find your county, town, school and legislative districts |
| NYC Open Data (City of New York) | Map coordinates only, for New York City addresses | To find your City Council district |
Each service has its own privacy policy and may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address.
Requesting coverage for your area
If your area isn't covered yet, you can ask us to add it. That form sends only your town or city, your ZIP code and, if you choose to give it, an email address, to a Google Form we manage. We use it only to decide which areas to add next and, if you left an email, to tell you once your area is added. We never ask for your street address there.
Advertising and cookies
This site shows ads from Google AdSense to cover its costs. The guide itself doesn't set cookies or use analytics, and ads never affect which candidates or positions are shown.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's My Ad Center, or opt out of some other vendors' personalized ads at aboutads.info.
Google's advertising practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Your address is never shared with advertisers.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for security, as described in GitHub's privacy statement.
